OUR PURPOSE
The NC Spinal Cord Society's purpose is to cure paralysis due to complete, chronic spinal cord injury.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of the Spinal Cord Society was born in a time of skepticism for cure efforts. Our rational investion of truth differed from that of the scientific community. Our priciples of being differed from care advocates who championed the belief that life from a wheelchair is to be celebrated. We have seen much change in the scientific community. We have seen a new erra of accessability ushered in with the ADA and other measures. We remain true to our philosophy of cure.

We believe that life is too precious to settle and accept paralysis. We believe that paralysis does not change the quality of a person, but it destroys quality of life. Our sole purpose is to celebrate the individual, celebrate truth and to demand life be given this basic level of respect, to demand cure.
